Noticeboard App
After finishing my first homebrew world and running my first D&D adventure, I realized something important: I love this hobby. World building, weaving character backstories into the plot, improvising in the moment, and even the public speaking side of DMing all feel incredibly rewarding. I enjoyed it so much that I started a second campaign with a brand new group of first time players.
For that second group, I wanted a structure that felt lighter and more modular. Short quest arcs instead of one giant narrative. The idea came quickly: an adventurers guild with a quest noticeboard. Players could walk up, pick a parchment, and choose what they wanted to pursue next.
I thought the visual element would help new players feel grounded and immersed. After session one, I realized they did not actually need it, but by then I had already started building a full noticeboard app. And honestly, I am glad I kept going.
What the App Does
The concept is simple: a dynamic noticeboard that displays quests as parchment notes the players can browse, preview, and select. As I built it, the tool grew into something much more flexible.
Current Features - Guildhall Noticeboard Background — A static board that acts as the canvas for all parchments. - Dynamic Parchments — Multiple parchment styles and sizes that can be placed automatically or edited manually. - Quest Input Options — - In app editor for quest name, description, rewards, and more. - CSV upload with a built in parser for preparing quests in a spreadsheet ahead of time. - Edit Mode — Move parchments around, swap designs, and update quest details. - Full Screen Quest View — Clicking a parchment opens it for easy reading. - Ambient Candle Animations — Small animated touches that make the board feel alive.
What’s Next
These are the features I have built so far. I will keep posting updates as the project grows, and update you on what I've already done. Thank you for checking this out and for the interest. It genuinely keeps me motivated.
