Devlog #6 - My Tabletop RPG App Making Adventure Part 6
The NPC Conjurer
Ever had a player stride up to talk to someone you never statted out? I built a fix.
The NPC Conjurer summons a complete NPC in one click: a name that fits their ancestry, three personality quirks, and three cues for how they actually sound at the table. It runs in your browser. No install, no login. Open it and go.
What's under the hood
It runs entirely on lists you control. Bring your own CSVs of names, traits, and voices, or use mine. Right now the library holds around 3,600 first names, 900 surnames, and over 1,600 traits and voices, spanning 15 ancestries from Humans and Elves to Tortles, Tabaxi, and Earth Genasi.
Voices that fit the world
Pick a region and the tool guarantees at least one speech cue drawn from it, so a Storm-Fjord raider and a Sun-Coast merchant never sound alike. Accent, cadence, verbal tics: all of it filterable.
Lock what you love
Perfect name, wrong vibe? Lock the name and reroll the rest. Every piece pins individually, right down to holding a surname while you shuffle first names.
Half the fun is rolling a few times, keeping the bits that click, and watching a stranger turn into someone.
Next up: Appearance
I'm building a description generator that composes a look from parts (build, features, scales or fur or shell, the telling details) and keeps it true to each ancestry and gender. Same lock-and-reroll flow, now for the face across the table.
